We use an independent insurance broker: Ellerton Knight who are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA registration number 126460). Ellerton Knight specialise in providing insurance for the Safe Deposit Industry.
The insurance is set up through My Security Box. They are the UK’s leading security box insurance specialist and are proud to be first in their field. My Security Box specialise in deposit centres and work with about 90% of all deposit centres across the country. They were the first UK brokers to offer specialist cover for individual safe deposit boxes and they offer insurance for security boxes held in an unrivalled number of security boxes and international banks.

Valuation Services
We also offer an independent valuation service which is carried out on site by Prestige Valuations who work in conjunction with Ellerton Knight. Prestige Valuations provides the UK’s leading jewellery valuation service. They offer an onsite valuation service and ensure that your precious items are valued securely and discretely.
Our experts will examine your jewellery and provide a written valuation for insurance, which describes in detail, your items of jewellery. They also take digital photographs to distinguish features which will be noted and full description and details will be written for each item. This makes the process of identifying your jewellery easy if it is ever lost or stolen.
Many jewellers charge a percentage of the overall value of your jewellery and often retain your items for sometimes up to a month. However, Prestige Valuations charge a simple fixed fee so you’ll know how much the service costs before you agree to it. They charge £185 per hour.
All their expert valuers have passed the Gemmological Institute of America (GIA) Diamond Grading Course, to ensure you get a reliable and accurate valuation, provided by the UK’s most experienced valuers.
Their first valuation is so thorough that they can provide a revaluation based on the information they hold, thereby not requiring to see the item again and incur large additional costs. Once a Prestige Valuation is completed and entered onto their secure system, they can update the value on a biannual basis for a nominal fee of £20 per item, and with your approval inform your insurers accordingly.
Asian Jewellery Valuations
Owing to the complexity of the Asian 22ct and 24ct gold jewellery in the insurance industry, Prestige Valuations has an in-house specialist, Ash Dunga, to value Asian jewellery. Ash is a third-generation Asian jeweller. He is familiar with all kinds of Asian jewellery that originates from all over the world.
We offer professional Asian jewellery appraisal, replacement quotations, and repair service.
Prestige Valuations’ in-house validators are multi-lingual, hence we can communicate with clients in their mother tongue for a better understanding and gather as much information as possible for validation purposes.
